FAQ

Do you shoot weddings?

Typically, no. I love to shoot engagements, though!

What should I bring to a dancer session?

Bring your favorite dancewear that you feel great in, of course, but also plan on bringing a variety of other items to lend texture and interest to your images. I love jeans over leos, sweaters and warmups mixed in, tights both full length and cut, fishnets, tutus, random jackets, and any fashion/streetwear you can incorporate. If wearing pointe shoes, I prefer shoes pancaked to your natural skin tone and no ribbons, if possible. You should be proficient on pointe if you plan on getting pointe shots. Pointe beginners may only be able to manage a simple but lovely portrait without the complications of most poses.

Can I extend the session on the day of?

Sometimes, but often not. As my schedule often runs tight, make sure you book as much time as you think you'll need for your shoot.

How do I prepare for a dancer session?

The most successful dancer sessions are ones where the dancer has a realistic understanding of what they can accomplish and has planned and practiced poses in advance. Create a board on Pinterest or a saved album on Instagram of poses that you are inspired by, and make sure you practice them. Often, one pose idea will lead you to something completely fresh and new, so be open to trying new things and get as creative and weird as possible!

Do I have to order prints through you?

No, you don't! You automatically get a print release from me with your digital images that allows you to take your photos to any printer. However, you MAY order prints and more through your gallery, if you wish. My professional lab is outstanding and I can't recommend them enough.

What is your turnaround time?

I carefully hand-edit each one of your images individually -- no batch edits. I take my time with each image to create something beautiful with each one. My turnaround time is typically 2-4 weeks. Sometimes I get lucky and your images will be ready sooner, but I will always take the time needed to complete your project beautifully. In a time crunch? Rush orders are sometimes available for an additional fee.
